An Astrology-based Matchmaking Social Experiment

Based in the GTA

Why This Astrology-based Dating & Matchmaking Experiment Exists

We live in a time where people are more open, more culturally mixed, and more flexible about how relationships look than ever before. Yet meaningful connection feels harder to find.

Part of the problem is that we still rely on outdated filters:

  • background

  • culture

  • profession

  • lifestyle checklists

  • shared hobbies

These markers worked in the past because we didn’t have better tools.

But they are poor predictors of how two people actually function together.

This experiment asks a different question:

What if compatibility is less about similarity and more about how two people regulate, desire, attach, and handle conflict?

That is where astrology becomes useful.

Why The GTA

I Live in the GTA. I observe people dating here.

And I keep hearing the same thing, from people across backgrounds, orientations, and relationship styles:

Dating feels exhausting.

Not because there aren’t enough people, but because it’s hard to know who you are actually compatible with until you’ve already invested time, emotion, and energy.

Dating apps promise connection, but they mostly optimize for visibility and choice. You swipe based on photos, prompts, shared interests, or surface markers, and then you spend weeks or months discovering what doesn’t work. Red flags appear late. Mismatches become clear only after attachment has already formed.

In a city as large, diverse, and fast-moving as the GTA, that process becomes especially frustrating.

Why This Experiment Exists

How Astrology Is Being Used Here

This is not astrology as prediction or fantasy.

It is astrology as pattern recognition.

Astrology can highlight:

  • how someone handles intensity and conflict

  • how they express affection and desire

  • how they respond to control, freedom, structure, or chaos

  • where two people naturally complement each other

  • where friction is likely, early on

For example:

  • Two strong-willed people may clash endlessly, while a strong-willed person paired with a diplomatic one may thrive.

  • Someone with experimental or unconventional relationship energy may feel stifled with a very conservative partner, but deeply aligned with someone who values freedom.

  • A person who lacks boundaries may actually do well with someone who provides structure, while two highly rigid people may struggle together.

These dynamics are difficult to see on an app profile. Astrology surfaces them earlier.

What This Is (and What It Is Not)

This is:

  • a time-limited, profile-limited social experiment

  • based in the GTA, because this is where I live and observe dating most closely

  • judgment-free with respect to culture, religion, ethnicity, gender, orientation, or relationship structure

  • focused on long-term connection, even if that connection does not look traditional

This is not:

  • a hookup tool

  • a traditional matchmaking service

  • religious or community-based matching

  • a promise that you will find “the one”

You may receive a small number of potential matches, or none at all.

That is intentional.

The aim is not quantity. It is relevance.

How Season 1 Works

Season 1 is free and exploratory.

Participants submit their birth data and a small amount of contextual information.

Using astrology as the primary filter, I identify a limited number of people (usually up to 3) who show natural compatibility or complementary dynamics.

Think of this as narrowing thousands of possibilities down to a few worth paying attention to.

What you do with that information is up to you.

Who This Is For

This experiment is for people who:

  • are tired of endless swiping

  • are open to meeting someone outside their usual social or cultural circle

  • care more about how a relationship functions than how it looks on paper

  • are curious about a different way of filtering compatibility

  • live in the GTA and want something grounded in real local context

  • are between the ages of 24 and 40 for Season 1 (only people closer to your age will be matched)

Important: If you require strict cultural, religious, or lifestyle matching, this social experiment will NOT be a good fit.

Why I’m Doing This

I’m an astrologer, and I genuinely believe astrology can do better than it currently does in the dating space.

Most astrology has stayed locked in traditional, conservative frameworks that don’t reflect how people actually live in 2025. I want to see what happens when astrology is applied honestly, without moral judgment, and without pretending relationships fit one template.

This experiment is a way to test that idea in the real world, with real people.

If this resonates, you’re welcome to participate.

If it doesn’t, that’s completely fine too.

Please note that I do not perform background checks or identity verifications. As a participant, you’re expected to follow all common sensical security measures when connecting with a suggested match.

The form below is the only way to join Season 1.
